Help Page
This site is viewable with any browser but we suggest using either Opera, Firefox, Google Chrome or Apples Safari. If you are using Internet Explorer then please ensure that you have the latest version. The CSS menus and photo gallery design used on this site are adapted from examples on Stuart Nicholls very useful www.stunicholls.com website.
Most of the problems you might encounter with this site are probably due to www.swlcamra.org.uk being pointed at www.000webhost.com where our website resides currently. This means that our pages are displayed in frames which can cause problems, especially when printing or if you want to bookmark a specific page on the website other than the Home Page. Even refreshing/reloading a page will return you to the Home page.
To get around this, simply go to http://batterseabeerfest.site90.net directly and bookmark it. You should have no problems in future if you use this link to get to our site.
Printing
Please note that a print style sheet is used when printing, so this site is already printer friendly. If youre not sure what this means then use your browsers Print Preview option on any page to see the difference between the screen and the printed output. In practice this means that only the important parts of the page are printed, which saves both ink and paper.
When printing the pages from the Local Pub Guides, please note that Opera is the ONLY current browser to make use of the CSS page-break property. This ensures that the printout doesnt break over the page. ie if a pub listing would print partially at the bottom of one page and continue at the top of the next then Opera will automatically skip to the top of a new page before printing, thus ensuring that only complete pub entries are printed on each page. (If that doesnt make sense just open the page in Opera and use Print Preview to see what happens in practice - its easier to see than to describe). If you have a printer capable of printing pages in booklet form, and you use this in conjunction with the Opera browser, you can print out your very own, up to date, mini guide book directly from these web pages.
If you have any other problems, or any questions or comments at all regarding our website, please email our webmaster, Mike Flynn, swlcamra@flynn.org.uk who will endeavour to assist you.
